According to the Batten Surveys, transportation is the #1 issue of concern to the public in Hampton Roads.

The lack of consensus on how to tackle this tremendous challenge is a circumstance that can be addressed by bringing all of the interested parties together to identify common ground.

The Hampton Roads Center for Civic Engagement is the ideal entity to facilitate such a process.

The project with perhaps the highest public profile right now is "The Tide", Norfolk's new light rail system, which Virginia Beach is studying to decide if they should support extending the system through their city.
