Virginia Beach Citizens “Weigh In” On Their Transportation Future

VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Virginia Beach City Council will receive a briefing on Tuesday on the results of "Envision Transportation", an 18-month public engagement process managed by the Hampton Roads Center for Civic Engagement

The briefing will provide survey and dialogue results that reveal the public investment preferences and rankings of citizen participants.  The open process featured a Citizens Working Group, briefings from international transportation experts, 10 community dialogues and an online survey.

All were designed to make “places” for citizens to generate their transportation questions, policy concerns and personal preferences for future public investments and quality-of-life choices related to transportation options for Virginia Beach.

The briefing for City Council will be given at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the City Council’s workshop to be held in the Conference Room at City Hall.  The briefing materials and documents developed by the Citizens Working Group will be available on the project website:  http://envisiontransportation.com, following the presentation.
